The nightingale is an incredible singer, with a vast range of improvisational skills. Night Time is an evocative piece that captures the essence of a night time woodland as a nightingale and owls join forces to sing.

Spoken word artist Mark Gwynne Jones has a beautiful narrative for this piece. His inspiration for this piece is as interesting as the piece itself.

The poem is based on a Grimm’s fairy-tale, in which two children are running for their lives. They’re chased by a cook intent on boiling them. However, the love that exists between the children gives them the supernatural power to turn into things that have two elements, such as a bird in a tree, or moonlight and shadow...
